Countdown Strauss

With the last stroke of the Cathedral bells, the champagne starts flowing and Vienna takes off in 3 / 4 time. It’s the official opening of Johann Strauss 2025. While thousands of onlookers listen to the new interpretation of the Blue Danube near City Square, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will be rendering the original at the Konzerthaus with all the elegance it so richly deserves. Old and New, classical and modern reach out across the city, the beginning of a resplendent year-long festivity full of verve, joie de vivre and unexpected encounters, all in the name of Johann Strauss.
