The Vienna Institute for Strauss Research invites musicologists, historians, musicians and all those interested to an annual discourse about the Strauss dynasty.
To mark the bicentenary of the birth of Johann Strauss I in 2004 the Wiener Institut für Strauss-Forschung (WISF) founded the annual Tanz-Signale, an event which invites musicologists, historians, musicians and all those interested to discuss the Strauss family. In 2025, the Tanz-Signale will offer twenty-two lectures and a range of musical performances to present Johann Strauss II, Waltz King and Pop Star, as a unique phenomenon in the history of music in Vienna.
