DARF ICH BITTEN?
Strauss' biography is closely connected to Karlsplatz. He was once expelled from the Polytechnic at Karlsplatz for singing in class, and in the Karlskirche, he married his second wife. Now, 200 years later, together with a multitude of local and international artists, he dances and conducts the OCT.opus 25.
Die Rosen aus dem Süden
Lukas König | God’s Entertainment | Black Page Orchestra
An old Persian proverb says: “The book is like a rose, for it opens the reader’s heart when viewed page by page.” In this spirit: Rose by rose, page by page, note by note, all in three-quarter time, artfully interwoven into a new Strauss.
Freut euch der Kunst oder vom Geheimnis des melodischen Recyclings
Maja Osojnik | God’s Entertainment | Black Page Orchestra
Maja Osojnik dedicates herself to the recycling method already used by Strauss. The composer will create a recycled waltz by cutting, halving, and expanding eight waltz melodies.

Freut euch des Lebens
Matthias Kranebitter | Black Page Orchestra
Octopuses seem to have a particular preference for a frequency of 600 hertz in experiments, which corresponds to the musical note d’’. Johann Strauss’ waltz Freuet euch des Lebens, Op. 340, appears especially suitable for this, as it was composed for the opening ball of the Musikverein Wien’s new building at Karlsplatz in 1870.
Irrlicht
Mirela Ivičević | Black Page Orchestra
In search of sonic nonconformity within Irrlicht, Strauss’ waltz Irrlichter is gradually deconstructed. Depending on the perspective, a cosmos of cross-references and associations emerges. In this spirit: Will-o’-the-wisps of all waltzes, unite!
OCTOPUS’ DREAM | JS für 8 Dirigent*innen
Super Nase & Co
It can only be revealed in advance that the planned performances will not last longer than the active sleep of an octopus. Super Nose & Co can't understand why people are afraid of new ideas. They are afraid of the old ones.
