Die Freude am Leben

The sine nomine choir transforms the Atelierhaus der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien into a multi-layered soundscape extending over three floors. The joys of life bodied forth in Johann Strauss’ music refresh not only our jaded spirits, they appealed just as much to his contemporaries.
This “Fest for Schani” (Schani = Jean = Johann) invents fictitious companions for the composer in a poetic biographical narrative combining contemporary choral music with sound worlds from earlier days.
