Since 2000 Claudia Seigmann and Markus Zett have called their artistic collaboration theaternyx*. The name derives from the Greek goddess of the night, Nyx, who is considered the mother of sleep, dreams and death. Together with associated artists, the nyxes work transdisciplinary in a field where theater, performance and social practice intersect. Their innovative devised pieces are characterized by a distinct sensibility for urban space as a stage. They tell stories from a feminist perspective, look for constructive and positive angles on the socio-ecological transformation and their current projects feature an education of desire through utopian thinking.
With über.morgen, theaternyx* developed an audio walk through urban space in the year 2050; it was successfully realized in four Austrian cities from 2019-24. Collaborations and co-productions most recently with Theater am Werk, WUK performing arts, Sommerszene Salzburg, Landestheater Linz, Federal Exhibition Upper Austria, Nordico Stadtmuseum, Posthof Linz and Museumsquartier Vienna.
