Choreographer Robert Binet has created works for the National Ballet of Canada, The Royal Ballet London and The New York City Ballet. Special mention deserve The Dreamers Ever Leave You, an immersive ballet premiered at The Art Gallery of Ontario and toured within Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany, the original choreography for Karen Kain’s Swan Lake for the National Ballet of Canada as well as Dark with Excessive Bright for the Royal Ballet London. As Choreographic Associate and Director of Artist Development Programmes, he is responsible for two pioneering programmes at the National Ballet of Canada: CreativAction, which gives young choreographers space to develop and shares resources with the local dance community; Sharing the Stage, which brings new audiences to dance in Toronto. In 2023 Binet was a mentor at the Biennale di Venezia, curator of the Dance: Made in Canada festival and received the Sandra Faire Next Generation Award from Dance Collection Danse.
