Omid Darvish is a singer, tanbur player and composer. He is the founder of the HUUUM and Kurdophone projects, which deal with the combination of Iranian musical traditions and contemporary forms of expression. His work focuses on narrative structures and sonic research. Based on the aesthetics of regional music, he develops musical concepts that integrate elements of jazz, electronic music and metal. The focus is less on stylistic fusion than on the question of how musical heritage can be further developed and communicated in new contexts.
