Jakob Gruchmann (*1991) is professor of composition and vice rector of the Gustav Mahler University in Klagenfurt/Austria. An already very extensive and varied catalogue raisonné shows a strong collaboration with important ensembles around the world (e.g. "die reihe", Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, œnm, Pro Brass, TANA Quartet, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Boys´ Choir). His music has received multiple awards (e.g. Toru Takemitsu Composition Award), he also received residency grants (e.g. ARCO Marseille) and the annual scholarship for music from the federal state of Salzburg.
