Flora Geißelbrecht is an Austrian composer, performer, improviser and lyricist. She is particularly interested in the music of our time and in musical and interdisciplinary interaction. Her music often deals with text, language or voice. As a violist, she has performed many times as a soloist and in ensembles (e.g. RSO Wien, Ensemble Modern, Studio Dan) at Wien Modern, the Unsafe and Sounds Festival, Impuls Festival or the Wiener Festwochen. In 2020/21 she was a member of the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt. Her works have been commissioned and premiered by festivals such as the Styriarte or the Donaufestwochen im Strudengau and performers such as Ensemble Kontrapunkte, the Company of Music or the Arnold Schönberg Choir. Since 2024, she can also be seen on stage in a production at the Volkstheater Wien. She also plays the Celtic harp, loves cooking with exotic spices and baking sourdough bread.
