
Ferry Janoska was born into a family of musicians on 22 January 1959. Music has characterised his life since childhood. He has been married since 1980, has two children and lives in Neusiedl am See in Burgenland. Ferry Janoska received his first piano lessons at the age of 6. He studied concert piano at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts and completed a degree in composition at the Vienna Conservatory. He has been working as a composer and arranger since 1990.
He has composed and arranged works for countless ensembles and artists. A few highlights: Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Lower Austrian Tonkünstler Orchestra. The Philharmonics, Janoska Ensemble, Wiener Sängerknabe, Michael Schade, Elisabeth Kulman, Angelika Kirchschlager, Thomas Hampson, Ildiko Raimondi, Adrian Eröd, Georg Breinschmied, Erwin Schrott, Klavierduo Kutrowatz, Rainhard Fendrich, Christiane Hörbiger.
Janoska's works have been performed at the Salzburg Festival, the Carinthian Summer, for Rettet den Stephansdom, at the Bad Kissingen Festival, in St Margarethen, at Hollywood in Vienna and Christmas in Vienna.
A few years ago, he discovered his love for the bandoneon. He has returned to the stage with this instrument as a soloist. He plays Astor Piazolla, classical literature and his own works with a string quintet of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ferry Janoska has been awarded the Grand Decoration of Honour of the Province of Burgenland and the Culture Prize of the Province of Burgenland.
