Bernhard Fleischmann was born in Vienna in 1975. Fleischmann began working with electronic music in 1998 and set up his own studio, where he recorded his first compositions. His debut album “Pop Loops for Breakfast” appears in April 1999 as the first release of the newly founded label Charhizma. A short time later, the album was released on vinyl by the equally new label Morr Music in Germany. This was followed by the first concerts as “Elektroniker” in Austria and Germany. In November 1999, Fleischmann released the EP “Sidonie” on Morr Music and Charhizma. Further releases followed on various international compilations.
Fleischmann became known in the USA in 2000 when he released the album “A Choir Of Empty Beds” on the Fuzzy Box label and gave two concerts in New York in November 2000. In 2001, Fleischmann worked on Jörg Kalt's film “Richtung Zukunft durch die Nacht”, which won the special jury prize at the 2002 Max Ophüls Prize. In November 2003, Fleischmann released his first double CD, “Welcome Tourist”, on which he collaborated with Christof Kurzmann, Martin Siewert, Burkhard Stangl and Werner Dafeldecker. The second CD contains the 45-minute “Take your Time”. Fleischmann receives the first French qwartz electronic music award in the Best Album category for Welcome Tourist. In August 2004, Fleischmann released his first album with Late with “Duo505”. In the same year, Fleischmann again provides the film music for Jörg Kalt's film “Crash Test Dummies”, which premiered at the Berlinale 2005.
In the fall of 2005, Fleischmann recorded the album “The Humbucking Coil” and released it in the spring of 2006. In 2007, the musician released “Melancholie/ Sendestraße”, two commissioned works, each performed live once (Neue Deutsche Nationalgalerie / Ö1 Kunstradio). 2008 sees the release of “Another Illusion”, a second album by Duo505. In the same year, Fleischmann co-released the album “Angst Is Not A Weltanschauung”. MICA named this album one of the top ten records from Austria in the decade 2000 - 2010.
Since 2008 Fleischmann has also been working increasingly at theaters in Austria and abroad. In 2010, Fleischmann again recorded two live premieres and released the double CD “For M / mikro_kosmos”, which was recorded at Klangbogen Mödling and the Art Brut Center Gugging. The album “I'm not ready for the grave yet” followed in 2012. In addition to releases on various samplers and remixes, Fleischmann recorded four albums with the trio Villalog between 2002 and 2014. The last Villalog album is produced by Fleischmann together with Jochen Irmler at Faust Studios Scheer. In February 2018, the album “Stop Making Fans” is released on Morr Music. In 2022 “Music for shared rooms” a double album with reworked pieces for film & theater will be released.
