Artist Website

Alexander Strömer was born in Vienna and received his first engagement at the Tiroler Landestheater after training as an actor. He then moved to the Burgtheater in Vienna for several years before becoming a member of the ensemble at the Theater an der Josefstadt, where he remains today. He has worked with numerous directors such as Achim Benning, Claus Peymann, George Tabori, Achim Freyer, Janusz Kica, Günter Krämer, Wolfgang Engel, Karlheinz Hackl, Herbert Föttinger, Otto Schenk, Robert Meyer, Ursel and Karl-Ernst Herrmann, Stephanie Mohr, Heribert Sasse, Josef Ernst Köpplinger, Stephan Müller and Torsten Fischer. At the beginning of his acting career, Strömer discovered his love of classical singing and trained his voice at the same time. This then enabled him to take on numerous challenging roles in musical theater, such as the Viceroy in Offenbach's “La Périchole” at the Theater an der Wien in 2023, directed by Nikolaus Habjan, or the Marquis de la Mancha in Strauss' “Das Spitzentuch der Königin” at the same venue in 2024.

Strömer has also worked several times as an actor and narrator for radio, film and television, including with directors Michael Kreihsl, Fabian Eder, Erhard Riedlsperger, Wolfgang Murnberger, Nikolaus Leytner and Holger Barthel.
