The Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin (Akamus), founded in 1982, is one of the world’s leading chamber orchestras for historically informed performance. The ensemble is known for its rediscovery of C. P. E. Bach and Telemann and has expanded its repertoire into the 19th century. Akamus performs regularly on international stages and shapes Berlin’s musical life with its own concert series. It collaborates with renowned conductors such as René Jacobs and soloists like Isabelle Faust. The orchestra's approximately 100 recordings have won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award.
