
Adrian Coriolan Gaspar, born in 1987, grew up in Romania and Germany in a Roma family. He attended the Vienna Music High School from 1998, was honoured as the youngest contemporary composer in 2003 and subsequently founded the Adrian Gaspar Orchestra, described in the media as the ‘youngest independent jazz big band in the world’, the Adrian Gaspar Gypsy Combo and the Adrian Gaspar Trio. He studied composition and music theory at the Vienna University of Music as well as jazz arranging privately with Mathias Rüegg. Gaspar performs worldwide with his formations, collaborates with internationally renowned artists and has received numerous awards. He also composes for film and stage and runs the Improvision Festival and the Improvision Academy music school.
