Ankathie Koi comes from Upper Bavaria, but has lived and worked in Vienna for a long time. She is a singer, composer and entertainer. With her powerful and multi-faceted voice, extravagance and character, the musician literally casts a spell over her audience.
She released her first single under the pseudonym Ankathie Koi in 2014: “Kate, it's hunting season” has long since become an fm4 classic. Three years later, the debut album “I hate the way you chew” followed, including the cult single “Little Hell”. The extensive tour that accompanied it even took the band as far as Mexico City.
Ankathie Koi's second album “Prominent Libido” followed in 2019, although the tour through German-speaking countries was abruptly interrupted by coronavirus in spring 2020. Inspired by the idea of entertaining her fans while wearing a mask and tied to seats, Ankathie Koi changed her setup and developed her acoustic “In Private” shows, which were performed at the Festspielhaus St. Pölten and the Wiener Konzerthaus, among others.
For her third album, Ankathie Koi returns to her mother tongue and sings in German. Ankathie Koi herself describes the result as modern retro-pop.
