STEFFI WIESER studied classical and contemporary dance for 13 years at the Vienna State Opera, the Vienna Conservatory, the Conservatoire nationale supérieure de danse Lyon and the Escola Superior de Dança Lisbon. She works intensively with choreographers and directors nationally and internationally on experimental, long-duration and immersive performance and theater pieces, as well as choreographing for opera, theater and film, f.eg. with Anna Bernreitner at the Magdeburg Opera and Konzert und Theater St. Gallen and is a guest lecturer the Music and Arts university of the city of Vienna. Recent collaborations as a performer include Florentina Holzinger/AT, Saint Genet/US, Signa/DK. For 2022 she received a scholarship from the Austrian Ministry of Culture for her own works and in 2023 a literature scholarship in which she started a discourse about how dance education in early childhood and young adulthood affects the body, heart and soul.
