The Austrian soprano Sophie Mitterhuber completed her vocal studies with honours at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. She also attended masterclasses with Kurt Widmer and Brigitte Fassbaender. After debuts at the Salzburg and Regensburg theatres, she was a member of the ensemble at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck from 2010-2016 and at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich from 2016-2024. Her roles there included Gretel, Ilia, Norina in Don Pasquale, Adele, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier as well as Pamina, Franziska Cagliari in Wiener Blut and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro. Guest appearances have taken the soprano to the Richard Strauss Festival in Garmisch, to Zurich Opera House as Valencienne in Die lustige Witwe, to Cologne Opera as Orff's Kluge and to Innsbruck as Susanna. Current (2024/25) roles include Beppi in Stallerhof at the Klagenfurt Theatre, Pamina at the Gärtnerplatztheater and Saffi in Der Zigeunerbaron and Pepi in Wiener Blut at JOST25 in Vienna.
