Important engagements in recent seasons include Die Reise zum Mond at Vienna Volksoper, La Finta giardiniera at Theater an der Wien, Die Meistersinger von N ürnberg at Teatro Real Madrid, Lied von der Erde (Schönberg version) at Vienna Konzerthaus and Orff's Carmina Burana in Porto. Also worth mentioning are the Mozart pastiche Der Alte Baum at Mozartwoche Salzburg; Die Schatzgräber at Opéra du Rhin Strasbourg; Amahl und die nächtlichen Besucher, Stumme Serenade, Salome and Elegie für junge Liebende at Theater an der Wien; Schauspieldirektor, Amleto, Rigoletto and Don Quichotte at Bregenz Festival; Entführung aus dem Serail and Zauberflöte at Festspielhaus Baden-Baden; Ariadne auf Naxos in London; Fidelio in Naples; Nozze di Figaro at Salzburg Festival; Vogelhändler and West Side Story at Seefestspiele Mörbisch and Entführung aus dem Serail at Opéra de Paris. Paul Schweinester studied singing in Vienna and continued his studies at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome.
