Dominique Wiesbauer, born in Baden in 1986, initially worked as a prop maker and stage technician after graduating from high school. From 2009, she studied stage and film design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
During her studies, she worked on short and feature film projects, including as a set designer, costume designer and prop master. Assistance and stage design work at the Burgtheater Vienna, among others.
She has been working as a freelance stage and costume designer and video artist since 2013.
She has worked at the Burgtheater Vienna, Theater in der Josefstadt, Rabenhof Theater Vienna, Cologne Opera, Neue Oper Vienna, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and the Berliner Ensemble, among others.
In 2015, she was nominated for the Nestroy Prize in the “Young Talent” category for the set of “Das Schwert des Ostens”.
In 2018, she won the Opera Concept Challenge of the Nederlandse Reiseopera with director Kai Anne Schuhmacher.
She has worked closely with director Christina Tscharyiski since 2014.
